Dear Voters of Walton County,
Your right to vote is something that many Americans
have fought and died for!  Your right to vote ensures that
our government is "by the people, for the people and of the
people".  Democracy works best when everyone participates in it.
The supervisor of elections administers all federal, state, and county elections in Walton County in accordance with the Florida election code, the Federal Help America Vote Act (HAVA), the National Voting Rights Act (NVRA) the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the federal voting rights laws.  Apart from the general administration and office functions, the duties of the elections office include but are not limited to Voter Services, Elections,
Candidates, Committees, and Voter and Poll Worker Education.
All voting systems should be open to rigorous inspection and testing.  Our voting systems in Walton County are tested publicly.  The voting system used in Walton County has been certified by the Federal Election Commission and certified by the Chief Election Official in Florida.  Florida has one of the most rigorous certification processes in the United States for voting systems.  Our voting equipment provides accessibility and empowerment to the widest population of voters.  Voters who are visually-impaired or non-readers, and those with unique accessibility requirements are empowered to vote with independence and privacy.  The equipment has several methods in place to ensure election accuracy.  When the voter casts his ballot on one of our touch screen systems, it is immediately encrypted and stored in multiple locations within the voting station, providing security and reliable redundancy.  If necessary, the ballot images that were voted on election day can be printed.  These images are scrambled so that no one can tie a particular voter to a particular ballot for secrecy purposes.
Our voting system has several layers of physical and digital safeguards in place and multiple audit trails to ensure security.  This county's system is secure, and we want the voting public to have the same assurance and comfort level with our voting equipment as the election staff has.

                                                         Sincerely,

                                                         Bobby Beasley, Supervisor of Elections
